Apartment and Car in Bradenton

I used furnishedfinder.com to find my apartment in Bradenton, Florida. This is a website for travel nurses looking to book a room or apartment for at least 3 months. I chose an apartment 10 minutes from work. I didn’t choose a place on the beach since there would only be one month left where the water would be warm enough for me to swim in. However, my place is only 10 minutes from the beach as well.

I chose a 2-bedroom apartment because I had some friends that planned to stay with me for labor-day weekend. It has a washer and dryer in the unit which is convenient, and a clubhouse with a pool. The furnishings are nice, and coming from Europe, the place feels quite big.

I always use National to book my car rental which is provided by my agency/job. They didn’t have any sedans left so I just chose this Acura SUV. It’s a bit bigger than I wanted but it drives comfortably and is spacious for my guests. I can’t complain about driving a luxury car for free 🙂

  1. I lucked out on a 2 mo gig to Crossville, TN this past spring. The practice rented me a 2 bed/2bath lake-front condo. The deck was so close, I could spit and hit the water! W/D in unit. Nice older couple next door. I was only 4 hrs from home, so I chose the mileage, which was paid weekly.

The place was clean as a whistle, and decorated so adorably.

Unfortunately, while up there, I guess from getting up and down on the stool in the exam rooms, I found out I have severe stenosis, as well as a herniated L5.

We moved to FL permanently in august. Since then, I have found docs I like, but have to go to Orlando to find them. Just ended up with an epidural. So feeling like a normal person again.

Today, I began discussing a 2 week gig back in ATL. I’m afraid to drive up – driving down here in August was the event that set me off again, after I had gotten the TN episode squashed with lots of steroids when I got back home. The whole flying for such a short flight, is over-kill, but I know I can’t drive the 8+ hours again.

  2. Nice!!! I’m an FNP serving in Oncology, my home is Miramar FL, but am on locums in HI now. Do you work with all ages or just adults? Am looking to stay a little closer to home next year, and am looking for positions serving adult/geri pop, but still locums. Do you have any recommendations? All the best on your next assignment.
